Low Fat Greek Yogurt Bowl

May 17, 2016

This low fat, high protein Greek Yogurt Bowl is another yummy go to breakfast of mine!

One cup total 0% fat Fage Greek Yogurt

One cup of berries

One banana

 270 calories

49  grams carbs

0 grams fat

20 grams protein

To maintain the low fat, high carb, low fat ratio, you can always add PB2 to the top of your Greek Yogurt Bowl. PB2 is a powdered peanut butter that is low in fat, gluten free and all natural. Two tablespoons contain 45 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 5 grams of protein.

Are carbs good?

As you can see, the amount of carbs in this breakfast is high. As an athlete, we NEED carbs to exert energy. Carbs are your body's main source of fuel to keep you energized, so carb up and eat your fruit to feel energized for your active day!

I am bananas about bananas...

One medium banana contains roughly 100-110 calories, 450 mg of potassium, 3 grams of fiber, 1 gram of protein, 27 carbs, and 19 grams of sugar. They are fat free, high in sugar and carbs but they give me energy when I have to dance for hours. The potassium prevents cramping in my muscles and they taste great. Ripe bananas are proven to contain more antioxidants and aid in digestion, so grab a banana and enjoy all of the amazing benefits!
