One thing I know everyone struggles with is the fact that we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. It is in our nature to compete to be the best and even if we become our best it still isn't good enough. Social media makes it easy to see people that are more attractive, wealthier and more successful than you. It becomes an obsession to scroll through pictures on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest wishing you had the lives of someone else. These images become an addiction just because it may appear that their life is better than your own. But lets be real here, social media can be fake, materialistic and deceiving. So stop comparing yourself to those around you and learn to love the life you have.
Comparison is the thief of joy
I will admit that I struggle with this every single day and notice that when I do start to compare myself to someone, that I get down and negative on myself. Loving yourself is to genuinely be thankful and appreciative for all that God has given you. Loving yourself in a selfless way is important because you will begin to appreciate and love the people around you instead of being envious of them. I believe this quote is a great reminder to ALWAYS love yourself and to believe that you are perfectly made in God's image!
